On November 20, 2018 I had a dream that I was in a swimming pool with a Muslim couple. The woman was wearing a hijab, and the man was wearing a turban. They were standing awkwardly in the pool watching their daughter play with my daughter. Both of the girls were about three or four years old. I started to playfully splash the girls with water, and the girls were joyously laughing; however, the couple scowled at me. As I continued to play with the girls, they continued to glare at me more and more fiercely. I then saw a police officer was standing in the pool in the place of a life guard. I was puzzled.
Right then, the Muslim man sharply yelled, “NO SPLASH!”
He grabbed his daughter to pull her away from my daughter. I apologized to them, but the couple and the officer continued to scowl intensely.
I woke up to use the restroom and then went back to sleep. I dreamt that I called my husband to tell him about the dream of the Muslim couple. I told him what happened and that I thought the officer represented the law of sin and death and the lack of grace in the Muslim religion. I noted to him that love was absent, and it reflected a scripture we had been talking about in recent days.
1 Corinthians 15:56–“The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.”
As I said this to Eric, he said, “Ah! I get it!” (When I told him all of this in waking life, he said the same thing simultaneously!)
When Jesus died on the cross, He set us free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:1-2). We CANNOT be justified by the law, but only by faith in JESUS! The more we try to follow the law, which Jesus made null and void, the more we fail.
Galatians 5:4 Amplified Bible (AMP)4
You have been severed from Christ, if you seek to be [a]justified [that is, declared free of the guilt of sin and its penalty, and placed in right standing with God] through the Law; you have fallen from grace [for you have lost your grasp on God’s unmerited favor and blessing].
Jesus is the only way to be reconciled to God (John 14:6), for we are saved by grace through faith! This dream confirmed to me that God desires to lead us by His Spirit, which requires us to have faith in Him. The couple and the police officer scowled at joy, and they tried to make me feel condemned for being free and playful with the children. The enemy is always using this tactic against me to try and keep me bound.
I pray that all of God’s children learn how to receive His grace to be free from guilt. Remember, just because you FEEL something, doesn’t mean it’s true. Whether we feel like it or not, we are completely free from shame and guilt–not by anything we have done, but because of the blood that the precious Lamb shed for us!
