Feelings of inadequacy are an enemy to fulfilling the purposes of God.
When you feel inadequate, you will bend, twist, and conform until you FEEL like you are enough–in any respect. The truth is that we are all inadequate in ourselves, and our works will not qualify us for anything of God. Only grace through Jesus Christ qualifies us.
Colossians 1:12-14– Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
Feelings lie to us to make us believe that we have to do enough and be enough to be accepted by God. I struggle with this all the time. I am so thankful that after I am worn out that the Holy Spirit reminds me that we can rejoice in the fact that Jesus died so that we could be rescued from darkness and be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light!
Here on earth when a family members die, they may leave an inheritance. The Last Will and Testament does not say that you will get the inheritance if you feel good enough! You get the inheritance if your name is on the legal document signed by the deceased. Jesus’s ultimate sacrifice even unto death was the signature that bequeathed us eternal life. Because of Him, we are qualified!
He qualifies us to be children of God, ministers of the Gospel, wives, mothers, friends, teachers, and anything else He called us to be. HE is enough. We are to put our faith and trust HIM–not in ourselves! He has qualified me and He has qualified you to be in His glorious kingdom!
